Problem description

The 3D models above are optimized multi-phase viscoelastic microstructures with prescribed loss moduli for a predefined range of frequencies. The topology optimization formulation aims to find the lightest microstructure that minimizes the sum of squared loss modulus residuals for a given set of target frequencies. Below is a figure that displays the homogenized viscoelastic response of each of the four unit cells shown above.
